Your Purpose: How to live it out daily

About two years ago I was at a career crossroads “in transition” and taking time off from work to be a full time stay at home wife and mom. I stopped working and wasn’t sure what I was going to do next.

I cried out to God and did the whole ugly desperate cry thing and asked God what my next steps were. Within three months God faithfully revealed my next steps. He gave me little baby steps. The first step was to attend a Created Woman Gather Her event. I had been following CW online for a couple of months and God led me here! And y’all, this is not a shameless plug, this is my truth!

The second step was to attend a lunch and learn by CW, to get more information about volunteering with CW. While at the event, God spoke to my heart, in a gentle nudge to join and go all in! God led me to serve with the writing team.

God not only led me to CW and answered my prayer, He also led me to Himself. During this season, God has put a hunger in me to know Him more deeply. I want to know Him more than I know myself, my husband, my babies, and family and friends.

Sweet friend, I don’t know how much of your purpose you know, but know God knows it. The same way that I go to God to know mine is the same way I encourage you to seek Him with everything you’ve got and find your purpose in Him.

As believers our purpose is to know God and lead others to Him, all while embracing our own unique God given purpose. To know more about your specific purpose…just ask. He will let you know girl, maybe instantly or over time, but He will let you know.

When God does reveal your purpose to you, here are some ways to live it out daily:

 1. Spend quality time with God and stay connected to Him. When you have a relationship with God, you know your purpose and can go to Him with any questions or guidance.

2. Make it a point to make your God given purpose a priority each day. Do at least one thing per day that is in alignment with what God created you for!

3. Surround yourself with a community that pushes you to God, the best version of yourself, and towards your purpose.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for creating your daughter. Please continue to bless her in this season of her life. Give her the insight and wisdom into your purpose for her life. Give her the tools and relationships she needs during this time to live out her God given purpose.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

  1. What does purpose mean to you?

  2. What specific questions do you have for God about your purpose today? Take a moment to pray and reflect on your questions.

  3. Write down the pieces of your purpose that God has revealed to you. Find a scripture that aligns with your purpose and write it down.

Goal Setting & Sharing

Now that you’ve reflected on your purpose and gained some clarity, what are three steps you need to take to fulfill your purpose?

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9 NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)
