Time to Eat!
Time to eat! How many of us remembering hearing those words growing up or catch ourselves saying that to our kids? The truth is people who eat at regular times each day are more successful in managing their weight than those who do not plan their meals. In other words, managing our weight means we have to be mindful of the time. I know it can be over whelming when we have so many other things, as busy women, to plan and manage. However, here is the scenario. We skip breakfast because we are in a hurry (and forget to pack our water); don’t plan our lunch and then boom, there we are in the early afternoon wondering what we should do. We may not even care what we do because we are STARVING! We then eat whatever and whenever which usually means making choices that are not very wise with extra calories. Our caloric intake must be spread through out the day to keep us satisfied and our metabolism going. Our metabolism is like a fire. To keep a fire going we have to add wood. To keep our metabolism going, we must add food throughout the day or it will burn out.
To begin eating on a schedule, start off with a good breakfast. I know it is a cliché, but the truth is that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
It gives us energy, kicks off our metabolism and may help in making wise food decisions for the remainder of the day.
By no means am I saying to eat when you are not hunger. Think about spreading your calories throughout the day and your body will begin to know when it is Time to Eat.
Have a schedule with a meal plan to eat every two-three hours with your snacks below 200 calories and 2-3 grams of fiber.
