Day 2, of New York Fashion Week fell on a day of remembrance, September 11th.  September 11th will never again be the same after 9/11/2001, and all of us here at Fashion Mingle honor the lives of everyone lost on that horrific day, 14 years ago.  For New York Fashion Week, the showcase of designer collections continued across the city.

Tadashi Shoji's striking blue returned on the Jason Wu runway on several dresses. Cushnie et Ochs featured an ombre "off-white to beige" color and beige reappeared on Yigal Azrouel's runway.  Grey popped up on several garments and the ever popular black and white combination took on a new look through prints, instead of just solid color-blocking. Several designers featured all-white and all-black looks. Pastels were still popular, but rich hues of blue and green were also present.

If you're self-conscious about your upper arms and shoulders, than next year's trends may not be for you! Arms and shoulders are the feature of the day, from cut-out shoulders to strapless numbers across all runways.

Best accessory award goes to Zang Toi for his fabulous, over-sized hats!

Nicole Miller featured a plethora of prints. Whether she's mixing prints, or pairing them with solids, Nicole always seems to pick the right ones and pairs them perfectly. While Nicole's prints were more structured, Jason Wu and Yigal Azrouel featured abstract prints.
