Fulfill God’s Purpose For You

Can you help? The first thing I heard when I answered my phone. Yes, of course, I replied, not sure I would really know how. As I sat and listened to the need, the hurt and struggle, it became clear what I was to say and how I was to serve at the very moment. I knew exactly how God was using the gifts He had given me along with my personal experiences at that very moment. I did not wonder or question my purpose. I just said yes, and let God take the rest.

As we look around the world today, God has given us so many opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus. There is brokenness, loss, hurt, devastation, sickness and loneliness right at our front door. Yet, it is tempting to sit and wonder, "what is my purpose?" "What is God's will for my life." The answer comes clearly in God's word for those who follow Him in the Book of 1 Corinthians 12:7. "A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other." (NLT).

It is so easy to get caught up in wanting something big and waiting for God to give us direction. As we do, could it be that God is waiting for us to do what He put right in front of us. I feel that I hear His voice so many times saying to me, "did you see the person and need I put right in front of you?" "I made your purpose very clear, yet you turned away.

You see God has dressed us with talents that are uniquely made for each of one of us. He is waiting for us to use them to serve others and to be His hands and feet here on earth. All we have to do is be willing to say yes to the way He is has dressed us. Let's stop praying, what is my purpose. Let's begin each day by asking our Father to show us a need where we can serve. And as we do, our purpose will become very clear.

Pause for a moment, list of few needs of others that you have encountered over the past month.
What is a way you can be the hands of feet of Jesus?
How could you use a talent that is unique to you to serve someone today and fulfill a purpose for that moment?
