Runway at Rio, Couture 4 Change: Benefiting Safe Place. Transforming the lives of women from Victim to Victorious
Lorie Newman and Rio are joining forces to bring about change in the Austin Community by partnering with Safe Place for a Night of Fashion.
Safe place is a non-profit 501 (c )(3) organization that provides safety for individuals and families affected by sexual and domestic violence. Their vision is to create a community free of rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence. In addition, Safe Place works with others to create change in attitudes, behaviors and policies that perpetuate the acceptance of sexual and domestic violence.
Rio provides the backdrop for a night filled with glamorous fashion provided by local Austin boutiques makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, hair stylist, and Designers. The evening will kickoff with a cocktail and appetizer happy hour provided by Starlite Vodka, food by Rio Rio, and end with a Runway Show highlighting the amazing talent of the Austin fashion community.
Throughout the evening, guests be able to participate in a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Safe Place and have the opportunity to dance the night away with DJ LX.
Who we are
Executive Producer Lorie Newman has been a main stay in the Austin beauty industry 13 years. By using her gifts and talents, Lorie has first hand brought about change in the lives of her clients and through her philanthropic work.
Throughout her career, Lorie has had the pleasure to work with the best of Austin’s fashion community and build relationships with those that are like-minded. It is because of her heart and vision, that so many have agreed to come along side of Lorie for Runway at Rio Couture 4 Change that will impact the lives of so many women in the Austin community.
Together, we’ll be the voice of women who have not been given one.
