Why are you covering your face?
We cover our face for two reasons: one, to shield or protect, and two, to hide. We shield our face from sharp objects. We protect our children's eyes from bad TV. We hide expressions potentially showing the world exactly what we're feeling. But the face is too beautiful to hide. It displays love, tragedy, excitement, disappointment; it shows the depths of your heart. The face shouldn't be hidden.
"Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and they are - face to face! They suddenly realize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him." - 2 Corinthians 3:18
God says take off the veil. Let Him see you. Let the world see you. Dive deep into the depths of what God has prepared for your life.
But in order to do that we need to unveil our face and stand revealed for the world to see. Others can't be helped when you are hiding. We are stronger than we realize. We have strength and power that is pushed to those corners. It's time to stand up and own your strength. Don't be afraid of it.
Teach me how to see all that is beautiful, Lord. Now I give my hope to you, I surrender. I pray that I see me through your eyes. I open myself up to be a vessel in this world.
Unveil your face and walk taller and stronger in the splendor of God. Will you do that today?
