Time after Time

There is a time for everything,    and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1

Last night was my husbands 20yr high school reunion. It also happened to be his last day of his 18 months of night classes at Aveda.

We spent the evening looking back fondly at times passed with his classmates. All the while filled with the underlying expectation of the new season we are embarking on.

The contrast of the two made me realize something. There are times that slip away, and we transition from season to season unaware of the moment we transitioned. However last night was one of those times you actually see the season change before your eyes. You feel the importance of the moment,  express the gratitude to have made it through the season behind, and look with expectancy at the season ahead.

No matter how the transition takes place the value is not in recognizing the moment, but rather holding on through the work and savoring the season of rest. Because the truth is no matter what kind of season you are in Father God has your back. He carries us in the hard times. Lends us strength to carry through. He celebrates our successes and always rejoices over us with singing.

Father,

Thank you for having every season of your lives in your hand.

Thank you that no season last forever. Show us how to savor the good and trust you in the hard times.

Amen
