Peace Out

Women are movers and shakers. Wherever we are, things get done. However, sometimes in the midst of getting things done, we do things to each other that rattle the cage. Peace is within reach. Celebrate differences!!Be thankful! “Finally, all of you should be of one mind.  Sympathize with each other.  Love each other as Brothers and Sisters.  Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.  Don’t repay evil for evil.  Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you.  Instead, pay them back with a blessing.  That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.”

1 Peter 3:8 - 9 (New Living Translation)

Knowledge to Build On

“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.  Turn away from evil and do good.  Search for peace, and work to maintain it.  The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.  But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”

1 Peter 3:10 - 12 (NIV)

Life in the Now

Sometimes working in an office full of women can be a challenge.  There is no chance of Peace when there is constant chattering, gossip and complaining about relationships with our children, husbands, boyfriends, brothers, sisters, parents and in-laws.  But wait, there’s more, because no office rant would be complete without complaining about the each other, the new Boss, working too hard, working too many hours and my personal favorite doing someone else’s job.

It’s tough to find Peace when you feel so incredibly miserable, but if you truly want to Peace Out at work, that’s exactly what it’s going to take – work (v. 11).

1 – Instead of complaining about your co-workers, accept the team of people that you work with and consider everyone’s talents and opportunities.  You may be able to suggest reassigning certain tasks and assignments based on your findings.  Don’t forget to pass on a few compliments along the way.

2 – If your Boss makes you miserable, reflect on the last time you were happy working for them.  What’s changed for each of you since then?  On a side note, if you’ve hated working for all or most of your employers then chances are, you are the problem.

3 – It may sound cliché, but the reality is someone would be more than happy to do your job if given the opportunity.  The attitude behind your work will determine if they get that chance.

Control what you can control, leave the rest up to God.  When we’re doing our part He’s willing to listen.

Think About It

Do you get annoyed when people don’t want to do things your way?  God may have called us to “be of one mind”, but that doesn’t mean he wants us to be clones, it just means he wants each of us to use our talents to work towards the same goal – Heavenly Expansion.  How can you apply the same principles at work?

Talk About It

Father in Heaven, thank you for guiding me to these verses showing me I could live longer by having peace, love, compassion and forgiveness be part of life.  I pray these things will counteract my love of sugar and butter.  Peace Out!
