Friends Like Rain

"There are friends who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother," Proverbs 18:24.

Who are your friends? I'm not talking about acquaintances. Who are your friends? People that choose to stick by you through

the ups and downs...I'm thankful to have a few.

They're incredibly talented women...each in their own right. They're beautiful, but don't let the facade food you. They're strong, powerful women of God!

In Deuteronomy the word says the Lord sends rain at the right season. Refreshing and life giving, rain arrives to quench the parched land.

Ever wonder how some friends instinctively draw closer in a difficult situation without you so much as uttering a word? That's the Lord sending "rain" at the right season.

You need it. You don't even have to say anything. He knows. You NEED love, support, accountability, strength and prayer and He provides.

Whoever said, there's strength in numbers, got it right... partially. The word says you only need two to come into agreement on something for it to be done.

Why do you need 1,000 "friend requests" to feel like people care? I bite my tongue as I write this because I'm around the 500 mark myself.  But I would hardly consider all of these people TRUE friends.

My friends are like sisters I never had. I'm not trying to be cliche, they really are. They care about the things important to me and know me well enough to ask and continue asking questions until they get to the root of whatever may be bothering me. Other times, they're just fantastic listeners and great people to have a cocktail and a laugh with. I love my friends.

Lord,

I'm so thankful for the precious daughters you've given me to do life with.

Shower them with blessings. Protect their hearts that they might always be willing to share pieces of it with those they most care for.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
