Bloom Where You're Planted
"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is
ever useless," 1 Corinthians 15:58.
It's just another day. You're not slipping into a saucy dress to hit the town
for the next "it" event. Instead, you're doing a load of laundry, shuffling kids off to school
or leading another meeting.
Lord, this is what you want for me? It may very well be. But it's what you do
with it that makes all the difference.
The M&M's of life: Monotony and Mundane. We fight tooth and nail to avoid them, yet the
gravitational pull they seem to have can be more powerful than the vacuum cleaner
sucking up the froot loops your kid left behind.
But who says the laundry, the school work, the grocery shopping and the meetings can't be
"done unto the Lord". Whatever you're good at. Whatever your purpose is...
for that day or for your life, as long as you do it with joy, nothing we do is ever useless to the Lord.
Bloom where you are planted. Let the Lord water the seed. After all, He's the one that planted it. He knows how to make it grow.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the music in my heart that causes me dance to the beat of a different drum.
Help me to do even the simplest things with honor, remembering you're always watching.
Amen.
