Activate your life

At the beginning of the year many of us take stock of who we are, what we have (or haven't) accomplished, and where we want to be.  If you are like me, the results can be slightly overwhelming.  However, there is good news: we are alive with the ability to dream; and, our dreams can become reality. Because there is so much involvement with family, social media, friends, social media, career (did I mention social media?) finding the time to focus on your dreams can be challenging.

Here are a few things that have helped me to remain focused and have made a consequential impact on my existence.

  • Prayer: Prayer is foundational to my life.  Simply stated, prayer is having a conversation with God. I ask, listen, journal, and know that God is with me.  He is on my side and I realize that life is meaningless without Him.
  • Family: My family is my rock.  They have the ability to stabilize and center my thoughts and actions.  We travel, have family dinner, laugh and we fight and get it right together!
  • Accountability: I meet with my accountability team on a regular basis.  They listen, ask the tough questions, identify blind spot and help keep me on track with my dreams and goals.
  • Community: Being around others who are like-minded has been useful for me. It is important for me to surround myself with those who have accomplished more than me, as well as those who can use my experiences to help further their dreams and goals.

In the midst of this business of life, I would like to challenge you slow down and remember that your life has significance.

What are some of your goals and which tools do you use to help you stay on track during the year?
