Well-dressed her

In Proverbs 31, the reference of the Proverbs 31 woman is an ideal and prototype of a woman to be. I used to think that being a Proverbs 31 woman was unattainable, but God revealed to me that you and I are in fact His Proverbs 31 women.

Dressing fashionably and well-dressed is a form of self-respect and respect for others. Dressing well as ambassadors of Christ means that we as women of God represent Him wherever we go. The world often judges others by their appearance and being on trend and well-dressed serves as a good first impression without speaking a word.

Do you ever think about how God sees you? I sure do. I have asked God to reveal how he sees me. In scripture there are many examples of how God sees His children. Such as in 1 John 3:2 NIV Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Kind of like the royal family and how they all are considered royals and must adhere to certain rules, expectations, be well dressed, well behaved, and live to a certain standard. For instance, Kate Middleton presented herself in a red Jenny Packham dress with white lace collar hours after giving birth this April! We as women of God and ambassadors of Christ represent Christ not only in our actions through our lives and character but also through our appearance and how we dress our hearts from the inside out.

Part of being well-dressed is being well taken care of by God and yourself. Having a perspective focused on God and heaven may make it easier to choose to take care of yourself on the outside and be mindful of what you are choosing to wear.

Whatever you decide to wear, my hope for you is that you wear it well and see yourself as the Proverbs 31 woman that you are!

My prayer for you is the following:

Dear Lord,

I ask that you show your precious daughter herself through your eyes. Show her how beautiful, important, and special you made her. Show her how you made her unique and special before you formed her in her mother’s womb. Reveal to her how you formed her beauty, personality, gifts, talents, and purpose to bring you glory. Help her take care of herself as she is a representation of you. Express to her how much you love her and want the best for her.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
