Walking On Water

God’s Plan for Healing is in the Commands He Prescribes

Here at Created Woman, we have defined healing as things that God does on our behalf when we are unable. Different from healthy choices, healing is the supernatural extension of God’s grace towards us in our weakness and inabilities.

I have recently made some difficult, but healthy, choices to seek healing from ruptured relationships and past wounds that were handicapping me from experiencing all that God has for my life. The Lord has faithfully shown up in grace to sustain me as I took difficult and scary steps to pursue freedom from pain, guilt, and shame. He gave me supernatural strength to look into things that I regret, and delivered me from the prison of judgment and resentment.

For this, I have found new and creative ways to express my gratitude towards Him, and an excitement around prayer and praise I never had before. I also sense that scripture I previously did not understand has become unlocked and releases understanding in me in a new way.

God’s grace is amazing! There are so many gifts in His grace that make life more pleasant, acceptable, and peaceful. Things that seemed hard or impossible have become like walking on water- I have been able to just skip to the end. Issues of forgiveness, empathy, and transparency, that once required miracles to see my way through, now seem a natural extension of a new understanding of grace.

The best gift of grace? That when I practice my new artistic and creative expressions of praise, more grace abounds! It seems the Lord never requires anything of us that does not have a built-in gift that goes with it.

It doesn’t matter which you attempt first, but take steps to seek healing and try out new ways to worship Him. They will both lead to freedom to pursue the grand adventure that is life with Jesus Christ!

Reflection

  1. What avenues of creative worship would you consider trying? Think journaling, singing, prayers based on scripture, dancing, etc.

  2. Are there any ruptured relationships in your life that are causing you regret? Any memories that cause you embarrassment or shame?

  3. Choose one area to seek healing in and one new way to praise Him.

Proclaim his majesty, all you mighty sons of Yahweh,
giving all the glory and strength back to him!
Be in awe before his majesty.
Be in awe before such power and might!
Come worship wonderful Yahweh, arrayed in all his splendor,
bowing in worship as he appears in the beauty of holiness.
Give him the honor due his name.
    Worship him wearing the glory-garments
    of your holy, priestly calling!
(Psalm 29:1-2 TPT)
