“She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.” Words that describe the Proverbs 31 woman in verse 17. I have to tell you, this motivates me to work out.  “Read it again, “her arms are strong.”

 I have this image of this God fearing woman who is calm, graceful, holy, yet confident in who she and what she can do in Christ.   She is a strong woman who is beautiful.   

 Goldly Confidence = Beauty

I believe women and young girls today are receiving the wrong message of what it means to be beautiful.  Their attempt to gain confidence often comes from trying to dress, look or act a certain way. To be the women we were created to be, we have to put our confidence in what God says about us. We are wonderfully made (Psalm 114:39). Women who are confident in Christ are beautiful. 

Strength = Confidence 

Confidence in Christ can be a motivator to exercise and take care of the body He gave you. Daily exercise can lift self esteem, honor God with your body and build strength that gives confidence and courage to complete the work God has given you to do. I believe that God was honored in Proverbs 31, with her strength and courage to fulfill what she was created to be and do.

I want my daughter to receive the right message and pray that she will:

• be confident in who she is in Christ as a young girl
•  know her beauty comes from her inner strength
• feel confident in her body and take care of it with the best of her ability

Building strength does not take a lot of time or a trip to the gym. By using your body weight and one pair of dumbbells (5-12lbs), you are set to gain strength in your arms. Consult with your doctor if you are new to exercise.

Complete 3 sets of 12 repetitions of each exercise 2x a week. Use the weight that you can safely complete each set and feel fatigue right in your own home.

Can you see the woman in Proverbs 31 doing a few pushups to get ready for her day?  Well that may be a stretch but she is definitely a strong woman who is beautiful.
