Made for More

For some of us, it’s difficult to accept the fact that our life has meaning. Because we know ourselves so well, it’s hard, at times, to believe that we are believable. Every now and then, we are afraid to make decisions that will set us up for the future because of our past. Yet, we live at a time where innumerable resources, to better our lives, are within our reach. Books, conferences, webinars, programs are readily available for self-improvement.

I fully support the use of resources – we need them in order to maintain a healthy existence. However, because were fashioned in the image and likeness of God, the creator everything that exists; we have the potential to realize more than our minds can conceive. We have the power to foster change. We have the ability to bring about new and fresh ideas. We have the capacity to champion causes. We have the intelligence to engage humanity.

2 Timothy 1:6-7
‘Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you . . . For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’

Take some time and think about the following words found in this scripture:

Stir: means to rekindle, to cause to begin again or to set ablaze again

Gift: a favor one receives without any merit of his own

Fear: reticence, hesitation, shyness, reservation, reluctant, timidity

Power: inherent ability

The ability to succeed is in each one of us. Our past can be used as a springboard to the future. We were created to achieve the dreams we have in our hearts. We were made for more.

Nature never repeats herself, and the possibilities of one human soul will never be found in another.
